Devotees throng Sri Krishna temples

New Delhi, August 28: Platters of sweets and marigold garlands in hand, devotees thronged brilliantly adorned temples across the country today to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna, the Hindu god who vanquished the evil king Kansa.

Festivities began early at Brindavan with the deity being bathed in curd, milk, honey, khandsari (molasses) and turmeric to Vedic hymns in Dwarkadeesh temple after which it was shifted to Sri Krishna Janmasthan.
